Working from home in March & April

The general consensus surrounding Coronavirus — we will get through this. The world is going to be changed when we do, and one of those changes is going to be around the work environment.

Companies that previously wouldn’t allow employees to work from home are now being forced to explore this as a viable option. With it, there are some things you can do to help make this a larger part of your work culture in the future and maintain your mental health during this time.

Over-communicate

Demonstrate an increase in perceived productivity to your team/boss. At the end of this mandatory work-from-home (WFH) period, we want everyone to know that you were able to get more done at home.

With that, inform your team/boss what you will be working on at the beginning of the week. At the end of each day (or the week) follow up with what you were able to accomplish.

Demonstrating that you can get more done, and be more effective at home, could create additional WFH opportunities in the future for you.
