Super Bowl squares for commercials uses company names instead of numbers.

I’ve always loved Super Bowl commercials. And last year, I finally found a way to bring my love of commercials together with my competitiveness. After a few small tweaks to game play, I think I’ve finally figured it out.

If you’re attending a party or staying with some friends, I thought it might be a fun way to enjoy one of the most iconic events in television.

It works very much like regular Super Bowl squares. Only, instead of numbers along the top and side, let’s use the names of popular companies.

1) Create your grid

On a piece of paper, create a series of squares 4x4. If you have more people participating, you can increase the number of squares available.

2) Allow players to choose their squares

Let’s charge $2 per square and let all players purchase multiple squares to increase their chances of winning. Once all squares have been chosen, set the board.

3) Set the Board — Designate AFC vs NFC

Following the format of traditional squares, we’re going to have columns along the top (NFC) and rows along the left (AFC). Label each row and column with a corresponding company name. You can choose from the list of companies below or create your own.

NFC = National Food & Cars
Food and vehicle commercials
M&Ms • Toyota •Hyundai • Pringles • Avocados from Mexico • Doritos • Ram • WeatherTech • Kia • Burger King • McDonald’s

AFC = American Fizzy Club
Beverage company commercials
Bud Light • Budweiser • Pepsi • Coca-Cola • Diet Coke • Michelob Ultra • Stella • Bubly • Mountain Dew • Coors Light • Busch
