Chicago Streeterville apartments come to life as sign of support for local healthcare workers.

Every night for the past week, residents of Streeterville have flashed their lights and cheered on our local healthcare workers. Intended to come alive during their shift change, the display of support starts promptly at 8pm and ends at 8:05pm.

What started as a one-time show of support on Sat, Apr 4th, has continued every night for the past week. One week later, on Sat, Apr 11th, and residents are now treated to a series of airhorns, clanking pans, and a sing-along-worthy version of “Sweet Home Chicago.”

More apartments join each night, creating a new kind of fireworks to see in our Navy Pier neighborhood.

We hope our area healthcare workers feel safe and supported during this time. As Chicagoans do their part, stay indoors, and help to decrease the rate of infection — we’ll continue to find new ways to come together. And maybe…maybe we’ll earn a fifth star on that flag of ours.
